Welcome Winter Sunset

Welcome to Huia the celebrant's website!

On this home page I will introduce myself to you and hopefully ally any fears or concerns you may have in selecting me as your celebrant for your very special day.

I have been a celebrant for just 2 years but in this time all the people I have married have been very appreciative of my services, and many guests as well as the "couple" have complimented me on how personal I have made the ceremony.

It's your day and I intend to make your day "very special" for you and your spouse. I want you to wake up the next day and say quote "wow that was great lets do it again!".

It is not about me, or your mum, or your sister, or your friends but just you, you, you and your intended. Weddings with a personal touch is what I offer to you. You have the chance to view the service and if it is not to your liking I will change it so that you do feel it is about you. I will be accessible to you in the lead up to your day so that you and your intended (and I)will feel more than happy and at ease with the service and progress.

Now a little about who I am..My complete given name (maiden) was/is TeHuiakama Meri Ahenata Churchward but most people call me Huia. Married still to my husband (Pita) of 42 years with 3 adult children and many grandchildren. I was a very keen golfer for a number of years but since this line of work has come along that I enjoy immensely,I have let the golf slide a little. We live in a small country town of Takapau (Hawkes Bay, New Zealand) right below the Ruahine Ranges. This was my birth place so now you are probably saying " wow she hasnt moved very far" I really do enjoy meeting people and helping them as best I can, not only with the marriage ceremonies but also when the time of "passing" arrives as well. Take care and welcome! I am pleased you have found me....Huia

(this site is not yet complete but I feel it is more important to get the message out then to delay any longer)
